this awesome stuff was taken off the market for a while- and the art store i used to work in was a Mecca for this shit.
We had boxes and boxes and boxes of discontinued typefaces, that people used to come and rummage through. desperate to stock up before they were no longer.

now the shit has been a little bastardised- those fucking scrap book wenches have bashed the stuff in... writing shit like "lovely journey" beside a photo of their cat on a leash.

I have Neglected you for too long now,
I have been busy with important and argeous tasks over the last few weeks, and I hope from now on I will be a better blogger, which means fun and attention for all...


now... onto the news.

I am fairly sure that I have turned into a retiree...

since finishing uni, I have been making chutney and tomato sauce. I have been building curtains and making brooches. I have been planting plants and reading shitty books about pepople who are unhappy in marraiges and have babies with down syndrome, books which im pretty sure are reserved for the 'over-40's'.....on top of that... I am going to Sydney on the weekend for 2 days for the purpose of seeing a musical.

50 is approaching fast on me, and I'm determined to embrace it. its fucking dope.


This is my first batch of chutney.
I have told pretty much everyone about this chutney, and i think its my finest work as yet.
i even made pretty labels and put my relatives names on them. yep. personalised condiments.



this is Basil #1.
he grew from a seed in a fish tank.
he loves the rain, sun and the smell of cinnamon.
he also likes it when I eat him.
these are my tomatoes who are being fuckheads and not getting red.
and its making me red.


this was todays project.
yes. instead of sitting at Black Cat drinking cider and talking shit, I decided to make more goods. Spicy tomato sauce.

OH OH oh! and like a true old person,
I dont actually GO shopping anymore.. I started hitting up eBay, and in the past week i have purchased about 4 cameras and 3 t shirts.

US man stabs ex-girlfriend's pet fish

A US man who attacked his ex-girlfriend and impaled her pet fish has been sentenced to two years probation, a psychological evaluation and community service.

Donald Earl Fite III, 27, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to animal abuse and domestic violence assault.

According to court records, Sarah Harris had broken up with Fite but returned to her Portland apartment July 25 to find him lying on her bed, saying he wanted to get back together.

When Harris tried to leave, Fite shoved her against a wall, grabbed her hair and tossed her against a bathtub.

Harris fled but returned with an officer to find her fish - a bright purple betta named "DeLorean" - on the wood floor with a knife through it.

Ive been thinking about blogging about this guy for some time now...... He came up in conversation over the weekend.. and I think its time..

My mate saw him speak at some design conference a few years back. Apparenty he didnt talk through the whole thing- he just sat there and flicked through some slides of his work and then some dude in a superhero costume ran around for a bit.

which, admittedly, is fairly cool and different than being talked at for an hour in some cases- comes off as a little arrogant...

anyway... Anthony Lister is a Painter.. he mainly paints kinda Lowbrow kinda stuff- mainly of characters and stuff... here take a peek.




his work is absoltely amazing, its so loose and free and beautiful.. in an ugly lowbrow kinda way. his use of space and white really makes his characters pop... but aside from all this wanker arty talk. Its really his background story that im super interested in..



Anthony was born in Mexico and grew up in Brisbane apparently. he went to art school up there. and aparently found himself a cheeky little coke attiction.
This guy.. seriously... he is what artists are MEANT to be!!
The Jackson Pollock. the Brett Whitley. who doesnt give a fuck and trashes shit and causes a fucking massive rukkus constantly, but everyone still worships him and puts up with it cos they love his work. and they secretly love him too.
even those uptight fucking suits who deal art and talk shit about wine.
they love this guy!
cos hes fucking nuts!

here is a brief list of the charges he had had against him in the space of 2001-2008:

"....several sexual harassment charges, grievous bodily harm, possession of class A drugs, drinking in public, urinating in public, willful damage, break and enter, assaulting a police officer and several parking tickets"
sounds like a good night out no?

he also has been kicked out of some night club in NY in 2007 cos he 'exposed himself to a bunch of bouncers at the place and groped the owners wife.


Apparently his dad was assasinated by a head of an infamous drug cartel around this time too..

I'm NOT a festival person.
i had my fun back in the day losing my shoes and my mind in various 'mosh pits' to Millencolin and Beastie Boys etc. but It seems im getting older and generally growing more bitter by the day towards massive events..
but this.. my friends... this festival was made for me.

you see.... Days Like This (although still have a fair cheesy name) was tailored to provide the music connoisseur with a pleasurable line up- with minimal fuckwit presence...
I went last year and had an absoloute blast up in old sydney town taking in Public Enemy, DJ Vadim, Atmosphere, Flying Lotus, Morcheeba, and many more all on one well layed out and civil venue.

this... this is the festival for people who actually want to listen to the music and not just take a million biccies and get laid in a bush behind the Bacardi Breezer tent.
